How to Compress Images Online
Use this free image compressor to reduce the file size of JPG, PNG, and WebP images right in your browser. You can select multiple images, adjust the available quality setting, and download the results individually or together in a ZIP file.
- Select your images. Browse for JPG, PNG, or WebP files, or drag them into the upload area. Multiple images can be selected at once.
- Choose a quality setting. Use the quality slider to balance file size and visual quality for JPG and WebP images.
- Compress and review. Select Compress Images to see the resulting file sizes and any savings.
- Download your files. Download each compressed image separately or use the ZIP option to download all results together.
What Does the Image Quality Setting Do?
For JPG and WebP images, a lower quality setting can produce a smaller file, but may also make visible details less sharp. Higher settings usually preserve more visual detail while reducing file size less. Try a few settings to find a balance that works for your image.
PNG works differently: its output is handled by the browser's PNG encoder, so the quality slider does not control PNG compression in the same way. Re-encoding does not always make an image smaller. When the result would be larger, this tool keeps the original file rather than replacing it with a larger one.
Supported Image Formats
- JPG / JPEG: Commonly used for photographs and other images with many colors.
- PNG: Often used for graphics that need transparency; the size reduction depends on the image and browser encoder.
- WebP: A modern web image format that supports lossy and lossless compression, though results depend on the source image and browser.
Are My Images Uploaded?
No. Image processing takes place in your browser on your device; the selected image files are not sent to MARBPixel's server for compression. You do not need to create an account to use the tool.
